Orphan Black

Orphan Black Season 1 Cover  Orphan Black

Review by Stephanie Bragg

You’re just a regular person, you have your issues, but so does everyone. Waiting to take the train one night you are confronted by someone who looks just like you. No, not just like you, exactly like you.  Before you can even try think about why, that person steps right in front of a moving train. Wait, what?! She steps briefly into the dead woman’s life.  This chance meeting draws Sarah into a world she had never imagined. A world where human cloning exists and she is one of them. Continue reading

The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry
by Rachel Joyce

Harold Fry, who is retired and lives a very quiet life with his wife, receives a letter from Queenie Hennessy – a woman he has not seen or heard from in 20 years. She is dying and is writing from a hospice to tell him good-bye. Harold writes back to her and on his way to the mailbox to mail his letter, he has a brief conversation with a young lady whose words convince him that, instead of mailing Queenie the letter, he needed to go see her in person. He decides right then and there to start walking the 600 miles to the hospice. Along the way, Harold meets several fascinating characters and has some interesting adventures, all of which help him to sort out his thoughts and slowly reveal the true reasons he made this pilgrimage. This book is well-told and will make you both laugh and cry.
