  • Meditation for Beginners -- Compassion

    When: Monday, September 25, 2017 – 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
    Where: Tredyffrin Public Library at Meeting Room

    Cultivating the heart offers mindful practices to support focus, calm and life balance. Each meeting will explore a different heart quality including compassion, loving kindness, joy and equanimity (balance). This class is guided by Marc Balcer and uses a combination of teaching, discussion and seated in a chair meditation. No experience in meditation is required. Attend one session or all four.

  • 5 Ways Technology Will Change the Way We Age

    When: Tuesday, September 26, 2017 – 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
    Where: Tredyffrin Public Library at Meeting Room

    Technology impacts how we age, when we retire and how we enjoy our golden years. This program looks at changing technology and how it will effect our home life, how we drive, and the best ways to stay mentally sharp.

  • Maximizing Your Social Security and Medicare Benefits

    When: Wednesday, September 27, 2017 – 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
    Where: Paoli Library at Paoli Library Meeting Room

    Many people don’t fully understand their Social Security and Medicare benefits, so they wind up taking Social Security at the wrong time, enrolling in Medicare at the wrong time, or not getting the right supplemental insurance to go with their Medicare. While each individual’s situation is unique, there are some things everyone needs to consider when making these decisions. We will discuss those important factors–as well as specific situations such as divorce, remarriage, and other topics–that affect your Social Security benefit. Don’t let a poor decision cost you money in lost benefits and higher insurance premiums.
    Attendees will receive a complimentary workbook.

  • Writers' Group

    When: Thursday, September 28, 2017 – 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM
    Where: Paoli Library at Paoli Library Meeting Room

    Come when you can to the Writers’ Group–no need to arrive at 12:30 or stay until 5:00. Review work, trade literary tips, make friends and have fun! Connect with other writers and build a thriving community together. All writers,and all should-be writers, are welcome!
    Times are flexible–please contact the organizers for details!

    Bring your poetry, your novels, your short stories, and your inspiration. This group is an opportunity for creative writers of all genres to come together and support one another as we develop our skills and confidence as writers. We will hold open meetings with some formal guidelines, to share our writing and inspire one other.

  • Mahjong Lessons and Game Play

    When: Friday, September 29, 2017 – 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
    Where: Tredyffrin Public Library at Executive Conference Room

    Learn to play or join in a game or two and meet some new people.
    Mahjong instruction will begin at 1 pm.
    Game playing will be begin at approximately 2:00 pm.

  • Macro and Close Up Photography

    When: Sunday, October 01, 2017 – 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM
    Where: Tredyffrin Public Library at Meeting Room

    Laura Ducceschi, award winning photography, will instruct a class on Macro and close up photography. Learn how to zoom in on your subject and create beautiful images of tiny details of plant life, flowers, insects and man-made objects. A DSLR camera is preferable, a compact camera will also work. Bring camera to class. Class size is limited.

  • Author Thomas Keels -- Sesqui!

    The Philadelphia World’s Fair of 1926 was meant to be the greatest fair of all time but ended up being the “Flop heard round the world. Thomas Keels tells us the story of how the fair that retail magnate, John Wannamaker, hoped would transform Philadelphia became a national scandal.

  • APPRISE: Medicare Basics

    When: Saturday, October 07, 2017 – 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

    Whether you’re new to Medicare or want to learn more about it, this program covers the basics of Medicare and what you need to know. Participants will learn about Medicare enrollment, benefits and health plan options, what Medicare pays for, what it doesn’t and who to go to if you have problems.
