  • Art Book Club

    When: Wednesday, December 13, 2017 – 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
    Where: Paoli Library at Paoli Library Meeting Room

    Discussion of books–both fiction and nonfiction–in which art plays a central role.6. December’s title is _The Artist’s Voice: Talks With 17 Modern Artists_, by Katherine Kuh. Art historian, critic, curator, and dealer Katherine Kuh interviews 17 modern artists, providing surprising insights into their creative work lives, philosophies, influences and experiences. Do the artists see themselves the same way as the critics, curators, historians and public do? Did Marcel Duchamp intend to shock viewers with Nude Descending a Staircase? Was Edward Hopper thinking about loneliness and alienation of the modern world when he painted his iconic images? What influenced his style? Let’s see what the artists have to say about this and more.

  • Writer's Group

    When: Thursday, December 14, 2017 – 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM
    Where: Paoli Library at Paoli Library Meeting Room

    Come when you can to the Writers’ Group–no need to arrive at 12:30 or stay until 5:00. Review work, trade literary tips, make friends and have fun! Connect with other writers and build a thriving community together. All writers,and all should-be writers, are welcome!
    Times are flexible–please contact the organizers for details!

    Bring your poetry, your novels, your short stories, and your inspiration. This group is an opportunity for creative writers of all genres to come together and support one another as we develop our skills and confidence as writers. We will hold open meetings with some formal guidelines, to share our writing and inspire one other.

  • POSTPONED: Doctor Who Trivia Night

    When: Thursday, December 14, 2017 – 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
    Where: Tredyffrin Public Library at Meeting Room

    To celebrate the introduction of the Jodie Whittaker as the 13th doctor, join us for a fun night of trivia, treats & prizes!

  • Mahjong Game Play

    Where: Tredyffrin Public Library

    Games begin at 1pm. Boards are available at the library or bring your own. No registration required.

  • Jane Austen Birthday Tea

    When: Friday, December 15, 2017 – 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
    Where: Tredyffrin Public Library at Meeting Room

    Join us for afternoon tea to celebrate the 242nd birthday of novelist Jane Austen.
    Enjoy a finger sandwich and a cuppa while discussing your favorite Austen work.

    Please bring a new, with tags stuffed animal under 20″ and/or a feel better card for the Cortland Fox Foundation in support of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Neurology Department.

  • Free Drop-in ESL Class

    When: Monday, December 18, 2017 – 7:15 PM – 7:15 PM
    Where: Tredyffrin Public Library

    Learn English in a fun and supportive atmosphere. This evening ESL group meets to practice English with the help of experience ESL teacher Susan Pierson. No registration necessary, just stop by!

    Where: Tredyffrin Public Library at Conference Room

    Read It & Steep welcomes readers with a love of non-traditional titles, scrumptious treats & spirited conversation. Read It & Steep meets on the third Tuesday of each month from 7-8:30 pm. New members are always welcome.

  • AFI Film Screening

    When: Thursday, December 21, 2017 – 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
    Where: Tredyffrin Public Library at Meeting Room

    We will be screening the 1945 romantic comedy, “Christmas in Connecticut”. Barbara Stanwyck stars as a famous expert on marriage, cooking and homemaking who is asked by her publisher to host a national hero for Christmas dinner at her Connecticut home. It should be simple, but she must scramble to keep the secret that she’s single, can’t cook and doesn’t own a home.

    Can’t make this event? We’ll have a matinee showing on Sunday, January 7 at 2 pm.
