2023 Summer Reading is here!

Stop by the summer reading table to register!

Here’s how to participate in the Kid’s Summer Learning Program at Tredyffrin Library:

  1. Stop by the table in the Children’s Department at the library.
  2. Sign up with the child’s name and the grownups email and phone number.
  3. Receive your gameboard/reading log AND choose a free tote bag.
  4. Bring back your log all summer long for raffle tickets and other prizes!

One side of the log is a gameboard, complete the activities in any order and each activity is worth one raffle ticket toward the end of summer prizes.

The other side is for reading. The goal this year is to read 1000 minutes! Each ice cream cone represents 20 minutes of reading. For every 20 minutes you read or are read to color in a cone. If you color in the cones you’ll receive a reading champion cup at the end of summer!

This program is designed for ages Pre-K to 12. For children that read on their own or for parent and child to do together. HAPPY SUMMER LEARNING!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Join the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Club at Tredyffrin Public Library!

Click on the link in the title and you will be sent to our 1000 Books site. Here you will register and earn virtual stickers for every 100 books you read.

Read 1,000 books with your child before they enter school–a goal experts say children need to help them learn to read for themselves. One of the best ways to encourage learning is to spend time sharing books every day. Reading together helps develop important pre-reading skills that provide a solid reading foundation—a key to school and learning success. Plus, sharing stories together is fun!
