How does the Museum Passport Program Work?


  • Select one of the sixteen locations to visit.
  • Reservations can be placed up to 60 days in advance. Note: Passes must be picked up at & returned to the library who owns the pass.
  • Check out a Passport Kit at the Circulation Desk on Day 1.
  • Return the Passport Kit by the end of Day 3. The late fee is hefty: $25.
  • You can cancel a reservation using the My Passes option on the upper right corner of Tixkeeper.
    • Within 24 hours of your reservation, online cancellation will be unavailable. Call the library who owns the pass to cancel.

  • Lost pass fees depend on the price of the museum. The cost for each Museum Passport Kit range from $60 to $250.
  • The passport covers entrance fees and in some cases includes a discount at museum shops and restaurants.

What is the loan period for museum passes?

Museum passes loan for three days. Day one is the day you pick up the pass. You have the pass for the entirety of day two. On day three, the pass is due back to the circulation desk by closing time. Do not place museum pass kits in the book drops.

Am I able to cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation through tixkeeper or by calling the library who owns the pass.

What if I can’t pick up the pass until the next morning after the reservation date? 

If you cannot pick up your pass on the first day of your reservation, please call the library on the pick-up day.  If possible, your pass will be available for you to pick up on the following day.  Please note that you will have one less day to use the pass.

What happens if I do not pick up my pass on the day it is reserved? 

If you do not notify the library and do not pick up your pass, you will forfeit your reservation.  The first time you fail to pick up your reserved pass you will receive a warning notice.  The second time you fail to either cancel your reservation or pick up, you will be unable to make a reservation for six months.

How do I return the pass?

Return the pass back to the library that owns that pass during open hours. Return locations are the adult department circulation desk at TPL or the Paoli Library circulation desk. Do not place the pass in book drops.

Are advanced reservations allowed?

Yes, they may be reserved up to 60 days in advance using Tixkeeper.

How often may I borrow a pass?

Patrons may borrow a pass for a specific institution only once in sixty days, however multiple passes can be borrowed within a sixty day period. Only one pass can be borrowed at a time.

Who can borrow a pass?

Only adult patrons are eligible to borrow passes.

What are the late fees?

Late passes are subject to a $25/day fee.

May I reserve a pass by phoning?

Yes, staff will gladly make your reservation in TixKeeper if you do not have access to a computer or need assistance. All reservations go through the system.
