Tredyffrin Public Library's annual four-part college admission series with Cigus Vanni.

Panel members Rebecca Ross, Director of Student Accessibility Services at Widener University, Nicole Subik, Director of Learning Support Services at Villanova University, and Aaron Spector, Director of Student Disabilities Services at the University of Pennsylvania, will discuss topics including the differences in laws governing accommodations for students with disabilities in high school vs. college, the college search process for students with disabilities, requesting accommodations in college, the importance of self-advocacy for college students with disabilities, and working effectively with the campus Student Accessibility Office.

Parents and accompanying students, typically those who have IEP’s or 504 plans in high school, will learn about how academic accommodations in postsecondary education are designed to reduce or eliminate barriers in the learning environment in order to ensure students with disabilities have equal access and opportunity to learn and participate fully in all educational programs.
