Family Storytime 

All year, all thchildrene time Family Storytime never ends! Even though we are between program sessions you can still attend Family Storytime on Mondays and Thursdays at 10:30 AM. Just drop in for stories, music and fun.

 

 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Join the Worm on books1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Club at Tredyffrin Public Library! Read 1,000 books with your child before he or she enters school–a goal experts say children need to help them learn to read for themselves. 

One of the best ways to encourage learning is to spend time sharing books every day. Reading together helps develop important pre-reading skills that provide a solid reading foundation—a key to school and learning success. Plus, sharing stories together is fun!

  • Superhero Letters & Sidekicks

    Where: Tredyffrin Public Library at Tyler Hedges Children’s Room

    Children ages 3-5 with caregiver join us for a reading of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom ny Bill Martin Jr. We will also create and name our very own Superhero and Sidekick form alphabet letters.

  • Spanish Storytime

    Where: Tredyffrin Public Library at Tyler Hedges Children’s Room

    All ages, join us for a Spanish storytime.

    Children ages 2-5 with caregiver, join us for gentle yoga, dance and games. No registration. Tickets will be given out starting 30 minutes beofre program begins at the Large Meeting Room.

    Children ages 6 and under, join us in celebrating very important community heroes, Firefighters! We will enjoy stories, songs important lessons, and a craft. Everyone gets their very own Fire Hat! No registration. Tickets will be given out to the first 20 children starting 30 minutes before program begins.

  • Big Kids Book Club

    When: Friday, August 07, 2015 – 4:30 PM – 5:15 PM

    Join us the first Friday of each month for a book club just for kindergarteners.

    Bring your imagination and we will supply the blocks. Children ages 6 and up, join us for a free-sytle building club. Drop in.

  • Global Rhythms

    When: Monday, August 03, 2015 – 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM
    Where: Tredyffrin Public Library at Meeting Room

    Children ages 5 and up with caregiver. Join us for gentle yoga, dance and games. Adults participatin is encouraged. No registration. Tickets will be handed out starting 30 minutes beofre program begins in the LArge Meeting Room.

  • Reader's Theater

    When: Tuesday, August 04, 2015 – 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
    Where: Tredyffrin Public Library at Tyler Hedges Children’s Room

    Children ages 6-12, limited to 18 participants per week. You’ll learn basic stage terms and acting skills through one-and-done readings of children’s plays and stories from our collection. No experience or memorizing necessary, nor is it necessary to attend every week.

  • Heroes in Art Jr.

    When: Tuesday, August 04, 2015 – 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM
    Where: Tredyffrin Public Library at Tyler Hedges Children’s Room

    Children ages 6-8, limited to 18 participants per week (children ages 9-12 are welcome to join the older Heroes in Art class). This is an art appreciation and drawing class with a focus on comics, graphic art, illustration, and movements in fine art that utilize the same concepts (Cubism, Pop Art, etc.). It is not necessary to attend every week.

    A book discussion group for lovers of graphic novels, comics, and anime films. Please bring a favorite graphic-related book or film to share and prepare a five-minute “advertisement” for it. Pre-registration required each month.
