German Storytime

Deutsche Lesestunde: An introduction to German language and culture for toddlers and preschoolers.

Due to popular demand, German Storytime for children 5 and under continues every other Friday 10-10:30 am, starting January 13.

No registration necessary.

Bring your little ones to Paoli Library for stories, songs, playtime and sing-alongs – all in German! The preschool years are an ideal time to introduce children to the sounds and structures of a second language because they are just learning what language is all about. The entire story time will be in German, so some knowledge of the language may be helpful.

Story time leader Kate Raué is a fluent, non-native German speaker with a PhD in German literature from the University of Pennsylvania. She has taught German for 3 years and is raising her 2-year-old son in both English and German.
