Paoli Library invites elementary school agechildren and their parent or caregiver to sign up for a Bright Start Robotics workshop held at the Library (www.brightstartrobotics.org). Bright Start Robotics workshops are designed for families interested in exploring robotics and computer science in a user-friendly, age appropriate, and fun environment. Using LegoMindstorms Robotics kits, children will learn to build robots, program robots to “speak” and navigate simple mazes, and learn to use digital and analog sensors to control their robots behavior. At the conclusion of the workshop, instructors will review a variety of robot kits available for children as well as opportunities for continued work in computer science and robots.
Please note: The Paoli summer Robotics Workshops are identical to the Robotics Workshops which have been held at the Tredyffrin Public Library. Therefore, only children who have not already attended a workshop will be admitted. This also applies if a child has attended a workshop for a different age group. There is no cost to attend.
Coming back in the fall....
German Language Storytime
The German Language Storytimes meets every first and third Friday, 10-11 a.m. beginning August 15.
Bring your little ones to Paoli Library for stories, songs, playtime and sing-alongs —all in German! Join us to develop your kids’ (age 0-5) German language skills. We will also celebrate some German holidays of the season—including Easter, St. Martin, Nikolaus & Advent. All are welcome! Some knowledge of the German language would be useful, as the story time will be conducted entirely in German.
For questions or more information, email email@example.com.
Bilingual Spanish/English Storytime
Spanish Storytime is on hiatus for the summer and will return in the fall.
Second and fourth Fridays, 10-11 am
The group will not meet during the summer. The final session until fall will be May 30.
Please register by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Would you like to introduce your child (age 0-5) to another language? This bilingual storytime is designed to help develop language skills in both Spanish and English. Mariko Nozaka, who grew up in Mexico and is an experienced teacher of Spanish, will present many familiar songs and books, so your child will soon be singing “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” and reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar in both languages! Speakers of all languages are welcome.
