Adults (18+)
Adults are invited to participate in TWO reading events this summer: 24 in ’25, our yearlong book challenge, and Arbo-READ-um, our community read with Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens. Attend the summer kickoff party to learn more or read below!
→ 24 in ’25 (All of 2025)
24 in ’25 is a yearlong challenge to read 24 books in 2025 and win some great prizes! Even though the prompts are listed out for the year, you may join the challenge at any time, and read as much (or as little) as you’d like! Learn more about how to participate in the 24 in ’25 yearlong book challenge.
→ Arbo-READ-um (June 16th – August 1st)
Join us in reading Soil: The Story of a Black Mother’s Garden by poet and scholar Camille T. Dungy. Definitive and singular, Soil functions at the nexus of nature writing, environmental justice, and prose to encourage readers to recognize the relationship between the African diaspora and the land on which they live, and to understand that wherever soil rests beneath their feet is home.
Arbo-READ-um includes activities and programs that count as challenges, and after completing six out of ten challenges, you can enter the raffle to win our grand prize!
Learn more about how to participate in the Arbo-READ-um community read event.
