Makerspace Request Form Welcome to the Tredyffrin Library Makerspace Reservations, please use this form to request equipment and time in our Makerspace Room. Step 1: Identify the equipment you want to use. Step 2: Review and accept our Makerspace and equipment policies. Step 3: Confirm your contact information and availability. These are the services that we can currently offer in the Makerspace Room. Usage requests will be responded to in 1-2 business days. Youth under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the appointment. Guidelines: Library 3D printers may be used only for lawful purpose, prints that will not be permitted to be created: Prohibited by local, state or federal law. Unsafe, harmful, dangerous or poses an immediate threat to the well-being of others. (Such use may violate the terms of use of the 3D printer design software.) Obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the Library environment. (see library policy) In violation of another’s intellectual property rights. For example, the printers will not be used to reproduce materials that are subject to copyright, patent or trademark protection The Library reserves the right to refuse any 3D print requests. The Library is not liable for any malfunctions or misprints and cannot guarantee the quality of any design or print job. Patrons can request 2 paid per month with a max print time of 3 hours per piece. Cost per print is calculated by weight, with an average cost of $0.50 to $3.00 Items printed from the Library 3D printers that are not picked up within 7 days of notification will become property of the Library. Items must be picked up by the individual who submitted them for printing. Only designated Library staff will have hands-on access to the 3D printers. Library staff will approve and slice all jobs submitted. No Patron supplied filament is allowed. Complete patron privacy may not be possible during the 3D printing process. Submitting a Request: Design Creation: Any 3D design software may be used to create a design as long as the file can be saved as an .stl or.obj format. Prints can be submitted during open Makerspace hours or online. Staff will check your design and if a approved will add to print queue. * Please note that the procedures for the use of the Library’s 3D printers are subject to change.Laser Engraving/Cutting PolicyEligibility: Any library patron with a valid Chester County library card in good standing may request a 3D print. Youth under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the appointment. Guidelines: Library Laser Cutter/Engraver may be used only for lawful purpose, prints that will not be permitted to be created: Prohibited by local, state or federal law. Unsafe, harmful, dangerous or poses an immediate threat to the well-being of others. (Such use may violate the terms of use of the Laser Cutter software.) Obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the Library environment. (see library policy) In violation of another’s intellectual property rights. Submitting a Request: Design Creation: Beamo Studio or any 3D design software may be used to create a design as long as the file can be saved as an .jpg, .png, or .svg. Prints can be submitted during open Makerspace hours. Staff will check your design and material to be carved/engraved. If approved, the project will be added to print queue. * Please note that the procedures for the use of the Library’s Laser Cutter/Engraver are subject to change.Dye Sublimation Printing PolicyEligibility: Any library patron with a valid Chester County library card in good standing may request to use the dye sublimation printer. Youth under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the appointment. Guidelines: Library Dye Sublimation Printer may be used only for lawful purpose, prints that will not be permitted to be created: Prohibited by local, state or federal law. Unsafe, harmful, dangerous or poses an immediate threat to the well-being of others. (Such use may violate the terms of use of the printer’s design software.) Obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the Library environment. (see library policy) In violation of another’s intellectual property rights. Items printed from the Dye Sublimation Printer that are not picked up within 7 days of notification will become property of the Library. Library staff will approve and process all jobs submitted. Library does have a large flat heat press available. Complete patron privacy may not be possible during the printing process. Submitting a Request: Design Creation: Any design software of choice may be used to create a design as long as the file can be saved as a .png, .jpeg., .svg or PDF. Prints can be submitted during open Makerspace hours. Staff will check your design and if approved will add to print queue. * Please note that the procedures for the use of the Library’s Dye Sublimation printers are subject to change.Cricut Machine PolicyEligibility: Any library patron with a valid Chester County library card in good standing may request to use a Cricut machine. Youth under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the appointment. Guidelines: Library Cricut machines may be used only for lawful purpose, prints that will not be permitted to be created: Prohibited by local, state or federal law. Unsafe, harmful, dangerous or poses an immediate threat to the well-being of others. (Such use may violate the terms of use of the Cricut Machine software.) Obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the Library environment. (see library policy) In violation of another’s intellectual property rights. For example, the printers will not be used to reproduce materials that are subject to copyright, patent or trademark protection The Library reserves the right to refuse any Cricut Machine requests. The Library is not liable for any malfunctions or misprints and cannot guarantee the quality of any design or print job. *Patrons can use Cricut Machines on a first come first serve basis at open makerspaces and remain in the Makerspace room during the cutting process. Time use may be limited, based on demand. Most Cricut Machine projects are free, with some exceptions including but not limited to. The print then cut feature for making stickers and other projects will incur a 30-cent print fee. Only designated Library staff will have hands-on access to the Cricut Machines. Library staff will approve and process all jobs submitted. Patron’s must supply all material for cutting. See approved materials. Youth under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the appointment. Library Meta Quest 3 Headsets can be reserved for a 30-minute time slot no more than twice a month. Only apps currently downloaded on the headset will be available.
