September is Library Card Sign-Up Month!
This September, Tredyffrin Public Library & Paoli Library are joining the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide for Library Card Sign-Up Month, a time to remind parents, caregivers, and students that a library card is the first step towards academic achievement and lifelong learning.
Celebrate National Library Card Sign-Up Month by signing up for a library card at one of the Tredyffrin Township Libraries! When you sign up for a library card throughout the month of September, you will win a free rental coupon– good for any DVD, audiobook, or videogame (at TPL).
Already have a library card, but still want to participate? Refer a friend who needs a library card, and both you and the new library card holder will win a free rental. Simply have your friend bring the completed “Refer-a-Friend” business card with your information when they sign up for a library card. Pick up the “Refer-a-Friend” business card at any of the check out desks in the libraries.
Please note, the rental coupon is valid only throughout the month of September and cannot be combined with the Wednesday “Rent One, Get One” deal.
Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month, the ALA and libraries unite in a national effort to ensure every child signs up for their own library card.
For more information about how to sign up for a library card, please visit one of your libraries in person or see our FAQ page.
