A different kind of performing arts camp
Eleven summers ago, we set out to create a performing arts camp that emphasized community and ensemble rather than competition–something affordable, flexible and accessible to all families and schedules. In the two weeks campers are with us, we build a revue while learning about parts of the theatre. Campers work together to create costumes, paint and design a set, and form characters. In the end, they will leave with new found skills in performance, musical ability, and socialization. We can’t wait to see you this summer!

We are excited to announce that the Tredyffrin Library Performance Arts Summer Camp will be returning this summer! We are excited to invite your students, rising 5th through rising 9th grade, to our camp where they will participate in games, theater-activities and lessons as well as rehearse and perform a culminating in-person, Musical Theater Revue.

Our teaching artists:
Haley Phares is an actress and singer who performed onstage at Conestoga High School. Her favorite role was working in the ensemble for “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” She practiced voice with the Kate Mallon-Day Voice Studio for all four years of high school and is currently pursuing a BA from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in Music Therapy; her major instrument is voice. She believes in the promise of music to improve emotional and physical well-being and is passionate about the inclusivity of music and theatre. She is excited for her inaugural year as a teaching artist at the Tredyffrin Libraries Performance Art Camp and is looking forward to sharing music with everyone!
Maria Dell’Orefice, a classical pianist and avid violinist, has shared the stage with a multitude of performers including Alexander Markov, Francesca DePasquale and Chris Botti. While Maria frequently presents solo and collaborative performances in the Philadelphia area, she has also performed solo piano in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall as a result of winning the Semper Pro Musica Competition, Elite International Music Competition, and Crescendo International Piano Competition. Maria recently returned from a program in Mondavio, Italy in which she accompanied opera singers in Mozart’s Don Giovanni. She will be the musical director for the Delaware Valley Opera Company in July 2023 for their productions of Goyescas and Abu Hassan.
As a violinist, she has played as the principal second violinist with the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra and has performed as a member of the Baylor Symphony Orchestra and the Waco Symphony Orchestra. Maria is a recipient of the Association of Church Musicians of Philadelphia Organ Grant, which funds private organ lessons and she is currently the organist at Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Strafford, PA.
Maria has studied under Charles Abramovic, Lambert Orkis, Jane Abbott-Kirk, and Sheila Paige and is an advocate of the Taubman technique. She earned her B.M. in Piano Performance from Baylor University in Waco, TX and earned a double M.M. in Piano Performance and Collaborative Piano from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
Mission statement:
The Tredyffrin Township Libraries’ performance arts summer camp, first and foremost, seeks to cultivate performance arts skills, including confidence, in all participants. The program simultaneously provides Conestoga graduates, currently pursuing degrees in performance arts, with summer employment. Furthermore, these positions as experienced educators in their field of study help their community.
Vision Statement:
Our vision is a performance arts camp where locally educated students foster and deepen the next generation’s knowledge and enjoyment of the performance arts.
