Community Puzzle Celebrating Taylor

Thank you, Taylor! Congratulations & Best Wishes!

Today we celebrate Taylor Baugher!

Taylor has been both a volunteer and treasured staff member at both Tredyffrin Public Library & Paoli Library over the last few years.

While we are sad that she is leaving us, we are excited to announce that she will be putting her Masters of Library Science degree to good use as she starts her first professional academic librarian position in Virginia.

We know you will miss seeing her smiling face at the circulation and reference desks as well as her excellent instruction during one-on-one tech time and the other programs she has run for the libraries.

Join us in saying thank you and good luck to Taylor in the comments below and by completing this week’s community puzzle & sharing your time.

Reopening Plan for Yellow Phase

June 9th Update

June 5th marked the first date that library staff were allowed into the buildings (other than for emergency facility work or obtaining materials to work from home) since mid-March. We are currently getting organized, obtaining supplies, and preparing the buildings to start some in-person services. For the initial “yellow” phase of reopening, the libraries remain closed to the public, however, we will begin implementing curbside pickup services beginning June 15th.

The library system has purchased software which will allow patrons to schedule curbside pickup of library holds (materials requested through the library catalog). At this time, we anticipate having this service available beginning June 15th. When this service becomes available, please check our website for information on how to use this service. Also, beginning June 15th, library staff will be present in the buildings to answer calls for general assistance as well as assistance during a modified library schedule in conjunction with the curbside pickup program. Anti-Racists Reads

While at first glance this list seems extensive, it is certainly not exhaustive. The works listed below by Tredyffrin Township Librarians are not the only titles that discuss race and racism in the United States; there are many more titles and authors of color that we could not include due to space and time. Comment below if there are titles or authors you think should have been included.

For all books, we provided links to Chester County Library System’s Libby (when available), the Chester County Library Catalog (when available), and a link to purchase either through Wayne’s Main Point Books or Amazon.com. There are a few items, however, that are not immediately available through Libby. As of June 2nd, Tredyffrin Townships Libraries are still closed and not offering curbside pick up at this time, so please do not place holds on physical items until the library offers these services.
